Climate Change
The balance of scientific opinion across the globe is that people, by their actions, are changing the climate. Increased flooding, droughts and climate variations will cause widespread economic, social and environmental dislocation. Climate change will have a big impact on the work of local governments and the well being of their communities.
Local Governments have already shown a willingness and enthusiasm to mitigate, or reduce their impact, and the impact of their communities, on climate change. Local Government, far from being limited in its sphere of influence, is pivotal to the global debate, and the global solutions.
Check out the climate change science pages for more information, diagrams and educational resources.
