Healthy Public Policy Seminar

LGSA and NSW Health staged a Healthy Public Policy seminar on 12 November 2007 at the Museum of Sydney.

Mr Ashley Gould, Health Improvement Advisor from the Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA) spoke on 'The route to health improvement: An Organisational Development Package to Build Capacity for Local Authorities'. Mr Gould has 15 years experience in several; Welsh and English Local Government and National Health Service settings, in enforcement, advisory and policy development capacities.

Participants discussed whether the need for an organisational development package like this in NSW.

This was a excellent opportunity to gain an appreciation of an international perspective on Local Government work in health.
