The Associations recognise and support the vital actions councils take to enable their diverse communities to participate in cultural expression. The ability to 'tell our story' is an essential and defining human characteristic. In a climate of expanding global homogeneity, local representation is increasingly important.
Local Government recognises culture encompasses our diverse heritage and avenues of expression in the environment, leisure, work and daily life, architecture, arts, history, language and education which people use to express their fundamental character and aspirations.
