RAPP

Resource for Ageing Population Planning (RAPP)

RAPP is a computer based tool, written in Microsoft Excel, which will allow councils to project how their populations will age over the next 12 years.  Data is provided at the Local Government Area level but also allows for regional comparisons.  Graphs and data can be exported to Excel for further work.  Data from tables can also be exported as *.csv files into mapping programs.  Users will need to export each region into a separate *.csv file.  The MIDI and MIF files for the LGA geographies are available from the Australian Bureau of Statistics at www.abs.gov.au.

Key features

RAPP includes:

  • Summary projections of key population and labour supply indicators over time
  • Detailed projections by age and sex
