The Local Government Association of NSW and the Shires Association of NSW are the peak industry bodies for Local Government in NSW.

Environment AwardsNominations for the LGSA's Local Government Excellence in the Environment Awards have now closed. The Awards recognise councils' outstanding achievements in managing and protecting the environment. Awards will be presented on 29 November at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney.
